Our world is divided, often by religious differences. India provides up-close insight to the world’s major religions, helping us respond to the needs of our age “for such a time as this.”
We are blessed to have Dr. Ivan Satyavrata teach on this journey. Ivan holds a ThM from Regent College and PhD from the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies. He serves as Board Chair of World Vision, has pastored a thriving Kolkata church for many years, authored numerous books and articles, and teaches “Jesus and Other Faiths – a Christian Approach to Other Faiths.”
Ivan and his wife Sheila live in Kolkata and he couldn’t be better placed to teach us onsite as we visit temples, mosques, synagogues, churches, city sites, and “sacred rivers”.
We will also share in the wonderful Christian heritage of India, particularly in Bangalore, where Ivan taught at a Leadership Training Seminary for many years, and where other Bible Colleges and Seminaries are also well established. We’ll worship with believers in a Baptist Church, and encounter the beauty of Christ in this kaleidoscope culture.
